Chef Diane’s passion for food can be traced back to her childhood. Diane is the daughter of an Italian mother, who was an excellent cook. She always had a tremendous food presence in her life. "Food was the way we celebrated in our house." Everyone especially looked forward to the traditional "Sunday sauce," homemade sausages and the much-coveted bracciole, a holiday favorite.
Originally from Boston, Diane grew up surrounded by great restaurants and fine cuisine. The cultural diversity of foods was extensive and inspired Diane to experiment at home, where she created new flavors and a vast collection of menus.
After moving to Northern Virginia area more than 20 years ago, Diane realized how much she missed the flavors of home. The variety of food in Boston was great, offering everything from Dim Sum in Chinatown, Italian in the North End and local seafood specialties along the Waterfront. She was determined to bring the flavors she grew up with to her new home.
In 2006, Diane opened Cornucopia Personal Chef Service to share her cooking expertise with busy families. This would allow them to enjoy gathering at the dinner table for home-cooked meals just like she did as a child. Now living in Decatur she is excited to be able to offer her services in the Atlanta area!
Chef Diane loves every aspect of food from tending her herb garden, preparing simple to the most complex meals and even food shopping… if you can believe it! She takes great pleasure in menu planning for her clients, and testing new recipes. Her all time favorite place is in the kitchen.
Diane earned a degree in Hospitality Management and holds a Food Manager Certification through the National Restaurant Association Educational Foundation. She also attended the Istituto Professionale Alberghiero, located on the shores of the Mediterranean Sea, where she studied Ligurian and Genoese Cuisine.
Cornucopia Personal Chef Service is licensed, bonded, and insured, Diane is also a member of the Personal Chefs Cooperative (PCC).
